When you picture the cheapest city in the world for love, you might think of a small and quiet place or a spot that isn't very popular. However, it turns out that Bengaluru, the busy IT hub of India, holds this title. As per Deutsche Bank’s “Mapping the World’s Prices” study, Bengaluru came out on top in the Cheap Date Index, surpassing big cities like New York, Zurich, and Geneva. The study looked at the expenses for a typical date night for two people, including dinner, wine, coffee, movie tickets, transportation, and even basic clothing like jeans and dresses. While couples in Geneva might spend around $470 for such a night, those in Bengaluru can enjoy it for just about $104. That’s less than one-third of the price in Western cities, making Bengaluru the most economical place in the world for dating.
Bengaluru's charm lies in its interesting mix of low costs and diverse choices. The city boasts a lively café scene, craft breweries, rooftop bars, and multi-screen theaters, giving couples plenty of affordable options. Plus, its youthful atmosphere, driven by a significant number of students and young professionals, creates a setting where romance can blossom without financial worries. This acknowledgment also reflects a larger reality: India's major cities, despite rapid growth, are much more affordable than their international peers. For younger adults and students, this means they can socialize, pursue romances, and form relationships without the stress of high costs. Therefore, when asked where love meets budget-friendliness, the answer is clear - Bengaluru, the world's most affordable city for dating. It shows that romance doesn’t need to be lavish; often, all it requires is a nice cup of coffee, a stroll beneath the city lights, and good company.
